iCarol and 2-1-1 Call Specialist Response in Disaster Scenarios

Spring 2022

Created scenario disaster fasttrack in iCarol and conducted disaster drills to analyze how call specialists utilize iCarol software and interact with callers during emergency situations.

Evaluation of a Disaster Rebuilding Organization in Kathmandu, Nepal

2019-2020

Program evaluation conducted for client, Lumanti Support Group for Shelter in Kathmandu, Nepal. This evaluation looked at the efficacy of their disaster reconstruction program that was created in response to the Gorkha earthquakes in 2015.  Research methods included document analysis, semi-structured interviews, and participant observation. The subsequent data was analyzed to provide recommendations and insight regarding the efficacy and potential expansion of the program.

2019 American Anthropology Master's Career Survey

2019-2020

A project concerned with re-issuing a survey originally done by CoPAPIA for the American Anthropological Association in 2009, to assess the current career market and distribution of U.S. residents with Master's degrees in anthropology, as compared to ten years ago. This included survey design, promotion of the survey release, distribution to online platforms, subsequent data analysis, coding, and a write-up for the AAA.

Bodo and Dimasa Heritage Digital Archive

2019-2020

Established a digital language archive for two indigenous communities in Northeast India. Conducted collaborative field research in India to facilitate implementation of the archive.  The archive is designed to assist in the preservation of language and culture of the communities.  This field research consisted of conducting interviews and community discussions, as well as training collaborators and presenting in workshops.

Vaping Preferences and Perceptions in North Texas

Spring 2020

A qualitative research project conducted for Denton County Public Health to understand perceptions and preferences in vaping.  Findings were provided to help client develop more targeted outreach and campaigning about vaping as a health concern.

Water & Beliefs

Fall 2018

A qualitative research project conducted for the North Texas Municipal Water District to assess perceptions and behaviors surrounding natural water quality in the district. Data was used to better understand behavior and attitudes regarding water usage and propose solutions for education & outreach to protect natural water quality in the North Texas area.
